Hey All;
I just started Flat Water SUP’ing last year. I have been doing Lake Paddling. I got to try out a Riviera 11’6 quickly…
I am on the high end of the weight range (250) for the board so It did feel a little sluggish, but thats because I had a good bit of it down in the water.
Stability was great, even with me high on the weight range.
Workmanship and initial quality seemed quite good for the price range of this board ($850 list) EPS core foam, glassed and resin construction!
Had a great quick run with it and so far, perfect beginner board at a decent price point.

Chuck, if you ever get south near NYC, or the Hous above Great Falls for some SUPing give me a shout. Got into the whole SUP thing last summer…got a killer deal on a Starboard race board from Outdoor Sports, and recently a BIC AceTec on Craigslist. Also looking to do the upper Hous on the Versa Board again.
The perspective of standing up is what it is all about.

Hey Allen, I try to get out as often as possible. The Hous has been bone dry all summer…sux. Been paddling the local waters at Glen Island and the estuaries around Orchard Beach. I plan on paddling the SUP race on Sept 15 out of Fairfield. Been also out on the Saugatuck…access to CT sound shore is a major problem, especially around Greenwich. If you ever get south of Danbury area give me a shout.

Yeah I agree. The first time I tried SUP I thought, why did it take me so long to finally try this? Now it’s my preferred method of having fun on the water. Way more fun than a kayak, for me, although if I don’t have a SUP I’m definitely using a kayak, or canoe or whatever I can get my hands on.
